Orbital transports no longer show the unit they're carrying, which definitely goes against WYSIWYG.

Was this a mistake, or an attempt at perf boost? Still makes me sad. :(

Would post a picture, but I'm on a bus. :p

Could have a animation on the unit, to show how filled up it is, with like, little crates beneath it?

Different sized crates for T1, T2 and com?

More importantly - we should have proper loading and unloading animations instead of the popping we have now.

can we stop belittling what we want?

Guessing/Hoping it's a temp removal to do with that bug where the loaded unit floats away from the Astraues whilst in transit.

Ok now that this unit no longer shows what it's carrying. There is absolutely no excuse for not including multi unit transport.

You mean no good reasons besides "It's a hell of a lot more complicated then single unit transports" and "there are bigger fish to fry"?

Well, so long as the multi-unit size isn't something retarded like 100 units, in a way that destroys the logistic side of moving a army.

Actually it's been possible for a couple months now, Statera has a 10 unit transport. The only api that needs worked on is the ability for a transport to know it's max unit carriage. Because when using an area pick up it only picks up on unit, this means you need to right click one unit, then another, and another, etc...

Also I suppose something to show what unit it's carrying, but single unit transports would need it too.

Are there really? Besides offline mode this is one of the most requested features.

It was never an issues of capacity. If you have one value, you can have an array isntead. Propably "Transported units" is already an array of size 1.
It is exactly the pickup is what is more difficulty. How much are you willing to moov around to pick the units up? How do you exclude multiple transpoters trying to pick up the same unit? How long will a transporter wait despite being not full and fly with partial load?

There is a good reason why the ferry command worked the way it did in SupCom. It creates a seperate entity (the ferry start point) wich can order the transporters around/is the single source the units ask for transport at.
As long as the game lacks that multi-unit transports that pick units up is very hard to do (as opposed to C&C style transporters where the units drive "into".

I'm not sure that's the case, actually.

Unit cannon, scripted campaign, factions, shields, factions, submarines, all spring to mind long before multi-unit transports.

Offline mode is. I don't have an issues. But I heard reports about the terrible internet people in America or Australia have to live with.
I live in the previous german capital in the center of Europe, so internet is the least issues I have. But other people on the world kinda need local servers. Plus we want to throw more computation power at this game and see how many units we can make :)

I just made this image on the PTE server with the PTE client, after picking up an engineer. It is a bit hard to see, but there is a engineer under the Astreus:

It is generally hard to see the unit under the Astreus. And I have not tried it with the astreus when in orbit (to hard to get a proper angle to look under it).
And it could just have been cut out during drawing since it was too unlikely to be visible.

I am not sure, but can't astreus lift naval units too? If so, a destroyer should be a lot easier to see under the astreus.

No it can't, but it'd be pretty cool if it could. Multiple people have said they aren't there. (Honestly I haven't looked myself), try out vanilla.
