Are all battles in GW 1 vs 1? I'm halfway through my first GW run, and so far it's always been 1 vs. 1 on very small moons/planets, but I just watched a video of some guy playing GW who had an AI teammate. (The UI looked dated and had the build # prominently displayed like it was an alpha/beta build, so I guess this could have been something they removed from the game.) Edit: Fixed thread title.
The minion/sub-commander is a card you can get, but it's extremely unlikely right now, not sure if it's a bug or not. Your best chance is in largest game type. Sometimes in a boss battle you can get a new 'loadout', one of them starts you with two assistants. Several of the faction leaders have multiple commanders. As you get farther from the start, the regular battles will also start getting a second commander, which makes for a sudden difficulty spike, especially when starting on the same planet as both enemies.
Ah, that sounds fun! (Well, you know, in a SP kind of way. ) So this sub-commander you get if you draw that rare card... are they autonomous, or do you have to manually control them? (I presume autonomous, but I'm just asking to be sure.)
It's an AI player allied with you, complete with resource sharing (which is bugged, but can still help sometimes) They aren't terribly bright, but can harass and control territory to keep it away from the enemy.
