Looking at how much changed between the first days and alpha and now I would not worry about that too much.

I wouldn't be here complaining about 10 planet systems not working, I don't expect them too, that's how low my expectations are... you know, that the game doesn't work and that's fine, but 10 players... at least deliver that.

I think the game could be great with more work, but when this work is done now... it won't result in more players. "Big Game Update - 10 player games now decided on skills rather than ability to remain interested in slow boring game" - Excellent news when it comes, but nobody is going to go out and buy it when seeing that. "Game just released - 10 player fuckfests left right and centre" - Now that's a headline that would get people buying the game.

Right now though, I can't bare to play the game more than once a week and everyone I've convinced to buy the game (which is 4 people) isn't playing it because it sucks and I can't even say "Hey, it's released now, play it" because it still ******* sucks.

But the only difference between the different states is their name, and possibly additional revenue to Uber based on their marketing.

There is literally no other difference. The game could still be called "Alpha", and we'd still have people complaining that it was too complete for an Alpha.

I don't think that is true. It doesn't matter if you just released the game or just an update, as long as there is media coverage you get people to see the game, which gets people to buy the game, if the new stuff promised looks good.

There won't be media coverage unless Uber pay for it, because nobody will care.

Looking at the slowdown in TA and PA with large numbers of units, and the slowdown I see here, and the fact that you can just pump units out, and hoarding units is beneficial (when it never really was before), I have very little hope.

That I don't think is the case. If the update is big enough games media will do some coverage.
