    Hello,

I've just saw that the game was released and rushed to buy it but now i am so sad.

The game lag spikes every 3 sec or so and its totally unplayable.

the problem : it seems that everything is jumping to one place to another its a horrible lag spike of some kind...
Ctr + P not showing any FPS drops what so ever.

can't really explain what this horrible thing is but i'll try .

lets say you send your commander or any other unit from point - A to point b you should see him go A>>>>>>>>>>>>>>B
what what you actually see is

A>> Jump> jump>>>> jump ... boom he is at point B (frames are missing)

the whole game skips every 3-5 sec :S

    my computer spec :

    i5-3570k CPU
    msi z68a-gd55-g3 motherboard
    8GB DDR3 Corsair 1600Mhz
    Windows 8.1
    SSD Samsung Evo 840 120GB
    EVGA 780 GTX 3GB RAM DDR5
I Have searched every possible forum with a hope to find a fix but alas.
I did try any possible fix out there ... the nvidia fix ... the windows fix ...and so on.
    The game itself is broken.

i can create a video and upload it to Youtube but that will hurt the game and i really don't like to do that, that's why i am asking for help here.

    please help :S

    Hello,

Can you please post your Dxdiag.txt and your latest PA log in your next post?

The PA log is located in "C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log".

Everything looks fine in your Dxdiag and PA log.

I think this is a server-side issue as you mentioned that a unit would "jump" as it moved to another location.

Sounds like your internet is really unstable, can you run a speed test via www.speedtest.net and report the results

Only the developers can fix server problems, so you'll have to be patient and wait until they figure out what's wrong.

P.S. If you end up getting disconnected from the server, an automated error report gets sent to the developers so they can diagnose the problem.

This might be happen because of:
    • Slow internet connection.
PA does need 2Mbps download at least.
    • High latency spikes. This might happen if you using any mobile internet like 3G / 4G (LTE).
    • Packet loss. This just mean problems with connection to server.
    Where you from ?

Any chance you using WiFi? Checking it over ethernet might be helpful.

Just to make clear do you mean it's happen on start of game or late in-game?

Realistically after some point when you have too many moving units on screen you'll always met this "lag" because server-side have bandwidth limitation per player and when there not enough bandwidth to update everything it's going to lag.

Still this shouldn't happen on early game or when you switch on planet with low population in large game.

This is extremely weird and likely it's problem somewhere within your network.

My profession is help desk and system administrator, I have many tools to check my network. I did check my network and it seems perfect in any way... So I wonder who's going on

If you open resource monitor on windows go to the network tab. Select pa.exe and you should see pings to the servers. What are your pings there?
Sometimes I get worse lag using a different server.

What you describe sounds like honest network lag.
Server lag (the sever having issues comming alogn with the simulation) is different (slo-mo game).
And client lag would show on the FPS first.
The only time I noticed something like this is when I was specator in a live game. It is logical as spectators have lower bandwith priority. Watching on 15-30 seconds delay via chronocam usually fixed it for me in those cases. But that is not an option for a live game of course.
The lag should be noted on one of the Ctrl+P pages.

Since nobody else is reporting anything of the sort, it is very likely the issue is on your end/you choose an unfavorable server. For israel I would say Eu server is the best choice.
The resource monitor is a good place to start, as it has very detailed information.
