OathAlliance's official PA Review

Hey everyone, finally got around to making my official PA review.

Please take a look and give me feedback on it. Also feel free to share it around.

Hopefully we it can be of some help for you guys in your fight against misinformation and foolishness.

It's a valiant attempt, Oath. But if you give 7/10 to the best RTS ever, you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

It has the potential, but I wasn't going to pull a single punch.

I also stated this:

I'm Mormon, I know all about misinformation and foolishness.

Even if everyone at Uber drops dead within the next five minutes, they will have still made the best RTS ever. They do not need to lift a single finger again to make the game "legendary".

You lack perspective, Oath, as do all the naysayers and all the "objective" guys who put a bug on the scales next to a feature and think that the former cancels out the latter. It doesn't, not by a long shot. And you are all sitting with your face too close to the monitor to be able to give a just evaluation to what Uber has produced. Even a 10/10 rating does not do this game justice. After all, there are at least half a dozen RTSes that deserve a 10/10, and PA is still better than all of them.

I suppose we'll just have to disagree. Feel free to write your own review and state what you think.

Sure, I am also writing my own review.

But let me ask you a question. Which RTSes would you rate higher than PA, and by how much?

One typo: 'fondation' instead of foundation.

Seemed like a mostly impartial and fair review, obviously from the perspective of a fan but as you said, reviews are by their nature subjective.

Mainly it comes down to missing features like Saves and offline. Also bug fixing and such.

PA is still very much a half baked game. It has amazing potential, but at this moment, in and of itself it is not the best.

But that's my opinion.

It is a good review. It needs some editing due some grammatical errors and a few repeats of words and phrasing. Finally your Bias shows through even when you are being objective.
Could I do better? I am not even going to try but you said you wanted feed back and that is how I read it.

I think the engine is incredible even ignoring how quickly it was made. I have the utmost respect for the technical aspects of PA and what the team has accomplished.

However, the raw GAME as it currently stands doesn't really intrigue me as much as I had hoped. I'm looking forward to what Uber has in mind for post release content (beyond obvious currently missing features).

So those games are better than PA because you can save in them?

That's the lamest justification I have ever heard lol.

I am sorry Oath, I am not trying to offend you, but my advice is to not quit your day job, except if you plan to apply to work for IGN.

I stated more than that. But if you want to make that accusation that's your prerogative.

"Saves and offline. Also bug fixing and such." You are saying it is "very much a half baked game" because it lacks those features. So you are saying that half of the value of a game (or at least an RTS) lies in its capacity to allow for saving and offline, and not having any bugs. And I am saying that this claim is absurd.

You do realise that "half baked" is an expression that denotes "unfinished" or "incomplete" not a quantifiable number.

Also, even Uber has admitted that things are missing and that they are working on getting them out for us.

You're being incredibly antagonistic and I can't even begin to understand why. I made an unbiased(as much as I could be in a general sense) report of both the good and bad parts of PA.

I've put a ton into this game and I enjoy it very much. But I also understand the many flaws it has.

Uber is working hard to take care of that, but we are talking about this moment, not next week, not next patch, not next game.

No, the game is halfbaked because it is far from being complete in functionality.
